The Fox Valley Therapy Dog
Club is a volunteer organization providing a wide variety of canine assisted
therapy programs to the community since 2002. Located in Yorkville, Illinois,
the Club is an Illinois not for profit corporation. The IRS has
determined that the Club is tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal
Revenue Code. Click here
for a copy of the letter. Over 40 members strong, our dedicated and motivated volunteers provide a unique “medium” through which we educate, communicate and implement our therapy programs. That medium is our well-trained dogs. Our club welcomes dog
enthusiasts of all kinds interested in animal assisted therapy. Our talented
club members are stay-at-home moms, dads, retirees, business-owners, educators,
businessmen and women, dog trainers, and even junior handlers. Our canine companions are
just as varied as our membership. Our therapy dogs are mixed breeds, purebreds,
show dogs and even couch-potato dogs. These highly trained dogs give us “their
all” in every therapy visit we make. The common thread that makes our Club strong is that we all are volunteers committed to “Making a Difference, One Paw at a Time.” What does this mean? Basically we’re a bunch of hard working, caring people who love working with their dogs and enjoy spending time with others.
We thank those people and organizations that generously provide donations that help our canine companions and us reach out and assist others. The Fox Valley Therapy Dog Club would like to sincerely thank Parkview Christian Academy in Yorkville for graciously providing the place to hold practice sessions with our dogs.

Our Mission We provide canine assisted therapy to the public in schools, hospitals, nursing and rehabilitation facilities and other community organizations throughout the Fox Valley area. In achieving this mission, the club also functions to further advance and refine the therapy skills of experienced handlers and their canine counterparts. This is accomplished through providing seminars, advanced training and unique educational opportunities to educate members and strengthen the dog and handler bond. All of this is provided in a fun, encouraging and supportive environment.
